Where can canoes and kayaks be launched from in or near the City?
Canoe and Kayak Launch Sites
There are two public launch sites between the Eau Gallie and Pineda causeways available for use.
Oars and Paddles - located just west of the intersection of South Patrick Drive and Banana River Drive on the south side of Banana River Drive. Ample free parking is available. The park is open from Dawn to Dusk and overnight parking is prohibited. Lake Sheppard Launch site – Directions:
- Going North on South Patrick Drive
- Turn Left onto Sheppard Boulevard
- Right onto Lakeside Drive
- Left onto North Waterway Drive
- Left onto North Point Court (the boat ramp will be on your left)
Please be aware of the “No parking” signs, this is ideally a “drop off/pick-up” launch site, as parking can be an issue at times and is located in a residential area.
