Satellite Beach Farmers Market
Visit our year round market on Thursdays from 10am-4pm, located at Pelican Beach Park, 1525 N Hwy A1A Satellite Beach. We are pleased to offer a variety of vendors that bring us produce, honey, herbs, soaps, jams, baked goods, craft items, artwork, jewelry and more. Satellite Beach PAL Family Fest
Visit our Food Trucks for dinner the 3rd Friday of each month from 5-9pm at the DRS Community Center. PAL Youth Leadership Program will host a KIDZ KORNER with crafts & games for the kids. Proceeds from this fest go towards training conferences for the YLP. For more info & how to participate as a craft or food vendor, contact the Police Athletic League (PAL) at (321) 777-8336.

PAL Youth Teeny Bopper Dances
Open to K-6th graders. Held at the TEEN ZONE, located in the DRS Community Center Building. Cost is $5/person.

January 18   Food Truck & Movie on the Green –TROLLS
Satellite Beach Rec and Satellite Beach PAL are teaming up for Food Trucks & Movie on the Green! Purchase dinner from local food trucks, serving from 5pm-9pm in the DRS parking lot. There will be kid’s activities prior to the movie at dusk. Bring your own blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy a FREE movie under the stars with family and friends.  Featuring a FREE showing of the movie Trolls!

January 20      Rhythm In Motion Dance Showcase  (Time changed to start at 2pm)
There will be an exciting performance by the Rhythm in Motion competition dancers at 2pm in the DRS Gymnasium. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from a dance team member, the Recreation Dept or at the door. The dancers will host a small reception with desserts.  This showcase will assist dancers with competition fees.

January  26     PAL Mini-Bunko Night
This “adult only” game of dice (learn as you go) is sponsored by the Police Athletic League (PAL) to benefit their youth programs. Doors open at the Teen Zone at 6pm (dinner   included!) and dice roll is at 7pm. $15/advanced tickets from the SB Rec office or $20/at the door. Questions, call PAL at (321) 777-8336.

Mayors Fitness Challenge is back for 2019!
Help Satellite Beach become Brevard County’s “Most Fit City” as we challenge 12 other municipalities in an effort to be the most active! Registration is FREE and runs through Jan 14. February 2    Mayors Fitness Challenge Kick Off Run/Walk
Join us on a community run/walk at the DRS Community Center at 9am as we kick off the 2019 Health First Mayor’s Fitness Challenge! Wear your t-shirt and show your community pride!

February 7-10      5th  Annual Locals Only SurFest  
The 5th Annual Locals Only Surfest is an event for Brevard County surfers ranging from Pro, Longboard, Ladies, and Groms.  There will be 10 openings for people outside of the area.  New events added this year include a skate contest, 5K run, Battle of the Hoods Surf and a rock climbing contest. February 10     Satellite Beach Lion’s Club Car Show
Satellite Beach Lion’s Club 8th Annual Car Show, will be held from 10am-2pm at the DRS Community Center. Registration begins at 9am. Family fun includes raffles, door prizes, music, food and vendors!  February 16     Samsons Island Annual Open House
Experience Satellite Beach’s very own nature preserve by visiting Samsons Island. Explore the island’s trails & enjoy a free, light picnic lunch. Ongoing event activities include: conservation education, kayaking, bird watching and more! FREE boat transportation reservations between 9:30am-2pm must be made in advance by calling (321) 773-6458. Feb 23   Backyard Chicken Basics Workshop
Learn the basics of owning Backyard Chickens at the DRS Community Center from 10am-1pm.  A variety of topics will include: diet, housing, sanitation, daily care and  more. Taught by Extension Agent Joe Walter and Fantastic Farm 4H Leader Erika Maier. February 23    3rd  Annual DeLaura Dash 5k
Join DeLaura’s PTO as we race to raise funds for PTO school improvements. There will be food, fun, and music for all ages! Medals awarded for each age group. For more info, email  president.delaurapto@gmail.com.

Feb 24    Relay for Life  Cornhole Tournament
Join us for Sunday Funday at City Hall Breezeway, 565 Cassia Blvd, from 1-5pm as we eat and enjoy playing cornhole!   Register with Kelly at (321) 773-4409.  Check in at 1pm, bags fly at 1:30pm. Cost is $20 per player. We will have a basket raffle with over 30 baskets loaded with lots of local goodies! This event benefits South Beaches Relay For Life.

March 2    City-Wide Garage Sale    Two Ways to Sell!
Sell at the DRS Community Center 8am-12noon! Individuals or organizations can rent a 10’x10’ space for $15 in the DRS parking lot to sell their garage sale items. Space rental     proceeds will benefit Relay for Life of South Brevard Beaches. Please make checks payable to American Cancer Society.
City-Wide “At Home” Garage Sale
Sell from your own home! Satellite Beach residents can call (321) 773-6458 and provide your garage sale location for inclusion in a master “City Garage Sale” flyer listing all sale locations to be available for distribution on Friday, March 1.

March 2     Move Your Mutt 2 Miler
Join other dog-lovers to run, walk or wag your tail 2 miles(ish) through the surrounding neighborhood. Begins and ends at our own E. Lorraine Gott Dog Park. March 9    Mayors Fitness Challenge  City Scavenger Hunt
Join us for a FUN fitness inspired team scavenger hunt around the city starting at City Hall at 9am. Teams of 4-6 people will follow clues or solve riddles to discover as many destinations points as quickly as possible by foot, bike, skateboard or any other ‘exercise vehicle’ you chose. Additional points may be earned by completing a fitness task at each destination. Pre-register at playsatellitebeach.org or in person at the DRS. Cost is $10 per team.

March 30      Relay for Life of South Brevard Beaches
Join us from 3-9pm at Pelican Beach Park, 1495 Hwy A1A, for the annual American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. The Relay is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and raises money for cancer research along with free programs and services offered locally. April 6    Hook Kids on Fishing
The 8th Annual Hook Kids on Fishing is coming to Satellite Beach! Check in begins at 8:30am at the SB Library ponds. The program begins at 9am and ends around 11am. Instruction will be given on casting, fishing techniques,   habitat restoration, conservation, knot tying and more! This FREE event for 6-16 year olds is sponsored by the Anglers For Conservation. A parent is required to stay with children.  Adult volunteers are needed, please call the Rec Dept if you have fishing experience and would like to volunteer! April 13    TWLOHA Run For It 5kJoin the non-profit To Write Love on Her Arms for their 6th Annual Run For It 5k. This run is an invitation to move for something that matters and to challenge the stigma of   mental health issues in our community.  To register or for more information visit www.runforit5k.com.

April 18        Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt
Children in 1st-6th grades hunt unassisted at this fun night time event. Bags will be provided for your eggs, bring your own flashlight. Cost is $7/child and tickets must be purchased at the SB Recreation Dept by 5pm April 17.  Arrive at DeSoto Baseball Field by 8:45pm. The hunt begins promptly at 9pm. Buy your tickets early, this event sells out!

April 20       Breakfast with the Easter Bunny
Infants through 1st grade will enjoy snack and juice, hunt for eggs, and watch the Easter Bunny arrive on the Fire Truck. This event is held at 10am at Pelican Beach Park. The cost is $7/child, and tickets are purchased in advance at the SB   Recreation Department. Don’t wait, this event sells out every year!

April 27       3rd Annual Garden & Earth Day Fair
Satellite Beach Beautification & Sustainability Boards host this annual event at the DRS Community Center from 9am-2pm. This family friendly, outdoor fair promotes nature and nurturing our environment while beautifying our  surroundings.  Vendors will be on hand showcasing garden related products and educational displays.  Board members will be there to answer questions.  Funds raised benefit city improvements.
