My Philosophy About Dance Education
A dance class is not just about learning steps, but rather an entire experience. It's exciting for me to watch a child come into the studio for a first class, a little apprehensive and yet excited. As the weeks go by, I see them growing in their knowledge of the music and movement. I can see them responding to the discipline of the class and watch the interaction with the other students. Confidence begins to grow as the dance vocabulary is learned. The picture is complete at the end of the year recital. I am so grateful that I have a chance to be part of this process. Thank you.

On A Personal Note

I am beginning my 38th year as Director of the dance program for the City of  Satellite Beach. My dancing career began at age 3 when I started dance classes with my mother, Catherine Rapp. At the age of 12, I began studying in Philadelphia and then later had extensive training in New York. I have choreographed television, theatre and summer stock productions in the Philadelphia area. Before coming to Satellite Beach in 1981, I resided on the island of St. Marten in the Netherlands Antilles where I successfully owned and operated my own dance studio for ten years.
